FINAL FANTASY IV
TRICKER PROJECT #597 CREATED: FEBRUARY 2018 The Tricker was by far the most clever and dangerous variety of Imp. Found only on the Moon, the Tricker dwelled within the depths of the subterranean passageways beneath the lunar surface. A floating, magical entity, the Tricker's opening move was to cast the magic spell Peep upon himself, "accidentally" revealing his secret, hidden weakness to be electrical thunder and lightning attacks. If this creature's name alone wasn't enough of a deterrent, any unsuspecting adventurer foolish enough to fall for his deception would be in for a literal shock. Using such a lightning attack depleted all but one of his 12,000 hit points, but doing so actually charged his own innate powers. His magical counteroffensive was swift and devastating. It was best to simply dispense with this little charlatan using a swift sword strike to the throat. (The Tricker was called the Lil' Murderer in the Game Boy Advance remake of Final Fantasy IV.) The Tricker is the only one of the Imp family of monsters who can fly, so I had to build an action figure stand for him. I drilled a hole into his back so he could connect to the stand, which is made out of semi-translucent plastic to create the illusion that he's hovering several feet off the ground. I usually display him with his feet dangling, taking advantage of what little articulation the original toy offered. |
